C3P operates Cybertip.ca — Canada’s tipline for reporting child sexual abuse and exploitation on the internet — as well as other prevention and intervention programs and initiatives.

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Finance to lead our Finance Department. Reporting directly to the Executive Director and serving as a key member of C3P’s Senior Management Team, this role provides primary oversight of financial operations, internal and external financial reporting, regulatory and tax compliance, and the annual budget process. The Director ensures appropriate procedures, controls, and services are in place to support effective financial management, audit, accounting, and reporting.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead the Finance Department, ensuring seamless execution of core financial functions such as billing, accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team by mentoring, training, and supporting finance staff, encouraging professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Spearhead critical financial initiatives, including system enhancements and process optimization.
- Act as a key member of C3P’s Senior Management Team, contributing to the organization’s strategic decision-making.
Financial Oversight & Compliance
- Prepare and manage financial statements in alignment with Canadian Accounting Standards for Not-For-Profit Organizations (ASNPO).
- Oversee accurate and timely internal and external financial reporting, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Lead the annual audit process and act as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial integrity and regulatory adherence.
- Support and collaborate with the Board of Directors' Finance and Audit Committee to provide strategic oversight of the organization.
- Provide reports and presentations to the Board of Directors on financial and budgeting matters.
Strategic & Operational Financial Management
- Direct the development and administration of the organization’s annual budget.
- Provide strategic financial insights and support to internal departments.
- Manage relationships with financial institutions, ensuring optimal banking and investment strategies.
- Oversee the organization’s insurance portfolio and risk management initiatives.
- Continuously assess and refine financial processes to enhance operational effectiveness.
Working Environment
This role operates in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting that involves frequent collaboration with internal teams and external partners. The position requires extended periods of computer-based work and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
Qualifications & Skills
- CPA designation with at least five (5) years of senior financial leadership experience, including managing finance teams and overseeing financial operations.
- Strong expertise in ASNPO and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and oversee internal financial control frameworks.
- Exceptional analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and decision-making skills.
- Strong organizational capacity, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and a service-oriented mindset.
