Canadian Centre for Child Protection issues plea for help in search for missing teen Delaine Copenace

An intensive police and community search is underway in Kenora and surrounding area for 16-year-old Delaine Copenace. Delaine has not been seen or heard from since around 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27^th. Delaine’s mom Anida Fisher describes her daughter as a ‘homebody’ and her family is incredibly concerned for her safety.

“I just want my baby to be home. Every minute we don’t hear from her is awful,” says Fisher. “This is so out of character for her. She would never want to be away from us, from her brother, from her sisters. We need everyone’s help finding our daughter; this is just not like her.”

Delaine Copenace was last seen wearing black boots, a black jacket, a “Bullet for my Valentine” t-shirt and black jeans with zippered pockets.

Anyone in Kenora, Lake of the Woods and surrounding areas is asked to keep their eyes open for anything that seems suspicious. Any information no matter how small could help find Delaine.

What you can do:

• Check personal property, yards, around property and outbuildings
• If you find anything suspicious, immediately call local police or OPP at 1-888-310-1122
• If you can spare time or resources to help in the search, report to the Kenora Fellowship Centre, headquarters of the community search effort
